Reading

While we have a selection of class reading books, we encourage you to supplement these with books from home or the  library. Share stories with your child as often as you can. The broader your child’s reading the better. Read with your child at least three times per week. All children, including fluent readers, benefit from reading aloud daily to an interested adult. Don’t forget to ask children questions about the text.

We ask that reading books are in school during the day so that they are available for teachers and support staff to hear your child read.

Homework Schedule

Homework is uploaded to Google Classroom.

  • Along with the expectation that children will read daily (and to an adult at least 3 times a week) there will be weekly phonics/spelling work set.
  • Maths will usually be a task related to work being covered in class as well as TTRS challenges.
  • RE homework will be set once a term.
  • Additional homework related to other curriculum subjects will be set as appropriate.
