We encourage our children to lead a healthy lifestyle. To endorse our commitment, we have had a new kitchen installed and a rota of parents (including James Graham who was Cotswold Chef of the Year) come in every week and supervise a cookery lesson. The whole school gets to taste the results. It really encourages children to try new food.
We are very fortunate in having an organic school garden and hold gardening lessons on a rota once a week. We grow our own vegetables and fruit and also some flowers for cutting. We also have a separate conservation area with a pond for wildlife.
As we are sited in a beautiful part of the country, we really encourage children to learn what is going on in the countryside around them. We regularly visit the Ernest Cook Trust Woodland School. The children keep their own chickens for egg production and we have good links with local farms. The school has even been visited by tiny lambs which we bottle fed.
