Butterfly Release

Class 1 has been studying Minibeasts and enjoyed seeing the life cycle of a butterfly in their classroom. Just before the end of term (June 2015), it was time to release the butterflies. At a lunchtime, the whole school gathered on the grass as the Painted Lady butterflies flew off into the school garden.

World Book Day

We have had an amazing World Book Day. The whole school is using Roald Dahl as their topic and focusing on a different book. The whole school came dressed as characters from Roald Dahl books. We had Danny, Charlie, Mr Bunce, Mr Twit, the Enormous Crocodile and many more.

Trip to Lea Wood – Years 2 and 3

Year 2 and 3 had a fantastic trip to Lea Wood. They built amazing pyramids. Despite a snowy start to the day, the children had a great time. They enjoyed eating the chocolate biscuit pyramid too!

Book Week

We have all had a fantastic book week. The atmosphere on the playground was a fantastic way to end the week as parents and children were discussing each character they had chosen to dress as. All the teachers were dressed as book characters too. There was Christopher Robin (Mrs Burton) and Tigger (Mrs Reed) as well as Little Red Riding Hood (Mrs Middleton) and Burglar Bill (Ms Flood).

A highlight of the week was definitely the visit by the children’s author, John Dougherty. Children were enthralled and inspired by his songs and poems. There was much laughter throughout the whole day.
